Gaylan L. Schroeder, a longtime resident of Kendall County, was elected to the office of Kendall County Judge in 2006 and took office in January 2007. He was recently re-elected to that position and began his second term in January 2011.

 

More than forty years ago, Gaylan and his wife, Cherry moved to the Hill Country with their two young children, Jimi and Steve. At that time he was the Branch Manager for a large Texas equipment wholesaler. In February, 1973, Gaylan and Cherry opened Kendall County Air and managed that business until they sold it to their daughter, Jimi and her husband, Steve Driskill. Jimi and their son Steve graduated from Boerne public schools and both became teachers. Steve and his wife, Elena live in Smithville, Texas, where he is Vice-Principal at Smithville High School. Between Jimi and Steve, they have blessed Gaylan and Cherry with six beautiful grandchildren, Tyler, Landri, Shiloh, Malachi, Zechariah and Benaiah.

 

Over the years Judge Schroeder has been active in many local organizations as well as being involved in establishing, founding, leading  and / or actively participating in various others. He is an Elder of Faith Bible Church, a board member of Morningside Ministries and is  currently a  member of the Boerne Rotary Club, after having served in many offices including that of President.
