Nicole Bishop became Kendall County's first Criminal District Attorney when the office was created on January 1, 2017, and she continues to serve the citizens of Kendall County in that capacity. Bishop grew up in Kendall County. She graduated from Boerne High School, and then went on to graduate college from Texas A&M University. She earned her law degree at the University of Mississippi School of Law graduating with honors in the Criminal Law Concentration Program.
After passing the bar exam, she immediately began her career as an Assistant District Attorney prosecuting felony offenses. When the opportunity presented itself to return home to Kendall County, she accepted a job with the Kendall County Attorney's Office prosecuting misdemeanor offenses, juvenile offenses, and obtaining protective orders for victims of family violence and sexual assault until the County Attorney's Office was replaced by the Criminal District Attorney's Office in 2017.
She is a member of the South Texas Officers and Prosecutors (STOP) Human Trafficking Task Force, the Alamo Area Council of Governments Criminal Justice Advisory Council, the Kendall County Criminal Justice Efficiency Committee, and the Texas Criminal & District Attorneys Association. She is also a member of the Noontime Rotary Club of Boerne, and serves on the advisory board for the The Center serving our aging population in Kendall County. Her and her family is also involved in assisting numerous other non-profit organizations throughout Kendall County. Formerly, Bishop served as a board member and then president for Rainbow Senior Center, and as a board member for Hill Country Mission for Health.
Bishop has dedicated her career to upholding the rule of law, seeking justice, and serving and protecting the public. As Criminal District Attorney, Bishop has focused on increasing services and protection for crime victims. She created the grant funded position of Special Victims Prosecutor, which is a specially trained Special Victims Prosecutor dedicated to handle crimes against women, children, and the vulnerable. Under her leadership, the CDA’s office has developed partnerships with organizations such as the Kendall County Women’s Shelter and Hill Country Crisis Council, and became the only Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) affiliated organization for Kendall County. The office's relationship with law enforcement agencies is a priority, and maintaining strong communication and providing support is of the utmost importance. Her office provides 24/7 on call support., training opportunities, and task force support to all law enforcement agencies operating in Kendall County.
The mission of her office is to seek justice, support victims, and hold criminals accountable. Bishop's goal is to keep Kendall County safe for all of our citizens and our families.
