Nick Socias

Nick Socias is currently the Special Victims Prosecutor for Kendall County. He is responsible for the prosecution of sensitive cases involving domestic violence and our society’s most vulnerable: children, elderly, and the disabled. Many of these victims are the least likely to be able to stop crimes from being committed against them, report crimes to law enforcement, or have the support needed to get through the complex legal process. He is continuing to help enact positive changes in the law enforcement community as he works to meet the needs of our growing county. During his career he has personally prosecuted over 10,000 misdemeanor and felony offenses and has extensive jury trial experience on some of the most egregious and complex criminal cases in the State.

He began his legal career as a prosecutor in the largest District Attorney’s Office in Texas: the Harris County District Attorney’s Office in Houston, Texas. He started in in the Police Integrity Division investigating police use-of-force cases and complaints. He would then move to the misdemeanor division, working his way up to the Felony Trial Bureau. There he was personally responsible for prosecuting and trying to juries cases including capital murders, murders, gang retaliations and tortures, child and adult sexual assaults, domestic assaults, and human trafficking. He was later invited to join a specialized division known as the Child Abuse Division where he received extensive training and experience working solely with physical abuse, sexual abuse, and exploitation of children. When not prosecuting cases he was training and supervising other prosecutors in the office and members of law enforcement.

Nick Socias was invited to join the Bexar County Criminal District Attorney’s Office where his focus was on violent crimes including armed drug trafficking, aggravated felonies, murders, and capital murders. During his time there he represented the State of Texas, victims, and their families in jury trials against some of the worst and most violent offenders.

Nick Socias and his family moved to beautiful Boerne and is honored to represent the great people of Kendall County. When not working, he volunteers at his church at Nineteen Ten, is a board member of the non-profit Hill Country Animal League, and opens his home to foster children.
