Kendall County Proposition A

On November 8, 2022 Kendall County Voters Passed a $20 Million Bond by over a 2/3 majority vote. 

The Prop A Committee was formed by the Kendall County Judge and the Commissioners.   The committee is comprised of 12 members, 3 from each of the 4 precincts. The purpose of this committee is to educate and advise the Court as to the acquisition of property using the $20 million bond funding approved by taxpayers in November 2022 under Proposition A.

This committee has been assigned the task of identifying Kendall County properties and providing recommendations for the acquisition of open space and conservation of land through the purchase of conservation easements or fee simple purchases. 

The authorized purposes include the following potential uses:
Protection of creeks, rivers, springs, watersheds and other natural infrastructure to maintain water quality and/or facilitates groundwater recharge.
Access to land for recreational or open-space use for the public. 
Conservation of land to protect quality wildlife habitat.

The committee is currently undertaking a process to determine the criteria which will be used to evaluate a particular tract of land.
