The first thing you must do before announcing candidacy for any office is file a Campaign Treasurer Appointment (Form CTA) with your local filing authority.

Texas Ethics Commission (Forms, Publications / Guides & Filing Schedules)

All the following information is for Non-Judicial Candidates and Officeholders. If you are running for the office of District Judge, you will need to contact the Texas Ethics Commission for more information on the requirements of that position.

Judicial Candidates are subject to additional filing requirements. Please visit the Texas Ethics Commission website for a list of all forms needed. 

Please Note: The Elections Department will not answer questions pertaining to Texas Ethics Commission Forms. These forms are legal documents which warrant legal advice from an attorney. The Commission has attorneys on staff available to assist you.
