Our Mission

The mission of the county’s animal control shelter is to provide a safe, humane environment, and quality care for every animal brought into our shelter. We are here to provide a balance of health, safety, education, and opportunity not just for the animals but for the people as well. We strive to work with other shelter facilities and rescue groups to help raise the number of animals adopted from our shelter.

Our History

Our shelter opened its door in 2010 and since then we continue to strive to give every animal in our care the best opportunity for adoption.

Our Staff

Our team consist of one Shelter Coordinator (Charity Fegenbush), one Office Manager (Brandy Ripley), three Animal Control Officers, and four Kennel Technicians.

Donations

Donations made out to the Animal Shelter help to provide our animals with Shelter, Care, and Enrichment. When giving a monetary donation, be sure to note that you wish the donation to go directly to the Animal Shelter.

Our Shelter also accepts donations of Animal supplies, Dry Dog and Cat food, Blankets and Cleaning supplies such as bleach.

Volunteer Opportunities

Our Shelter welcomes volunteers! Simply fill out our Volunteer Application, once approved our staff will contact you to set up an orientation where you will be shown everything you need to know about volunteering. Once you have gone through your orientation you will be allowed to visit the shelter anytime during business hours and work throughout the shelter on your own. Anyone under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or adult who has completed the application and orientation.

We are in the process of reimagining our volunteer program and would love to add a diverse group of volunteers that bring in fresh ideas and talents! We also do offsite adoption events and our own PetFest event, sign up to find out more information about volunteering at these events.

Need exercise? Walk a dog!   Need to relax? Pet a cat!
