Kendall County is accepting job applications for the following positions:

 

Deputy Fire Marshal/Inspector/Investigator - This position is responsible for fire code compliance and conduct inspections for installation of fire suppression, alarm and other fire protection devices and equipment to meet County Fire Code. Issue permits for construction after plan review is completed. Conduct inspections of buildings and other structures for compliance with State and/or County Fire Codes. Facilities Technician - the purpose of the position is to assist the Facilities Manager in the maintenance of all Kendall County buildings. Employees in this classification are responsible for performing preventative maintenance on buildings and repairing buildings, systems, and structures. For a full job description click here.

Kennel Technician - the purpose of this position is to provide general care and maintenance of shelter animals. This encompasses providing necessary services for humane feeding, watering, and caring for animals on the campus, as well as performing related work in maintaining and operating the kennels in a sanitary and efficient manner, an Animal Care Technician may have direct interaction with potential adopters and must always present him/ herself in a professional manner and consistent with the guidelines and values of the Kendall County Sheriff's Office. Legal Clerk I - the purpose of the position is to provide clerical and legal support to the Criminal District Attorney’s staff. Greet customers warmly and ascertain problem or reason for contacting the office and refer to legal assistants or prosecutors, as necessary.  For a full job description click here.

Rotating Justice Court Clerk - this position is to manage the clerical and financial operations of the Kendall County Justice Court. Position pays $22.34 an hour. For a full job description click here.

Firefighter / EMT Basic - this position workers directly under the Fire Marshal/EMC and is responsible for responding to fire and emergency medical incidents and participate with public education programs. Assistant Criminial District Attorney - Civil - the purpose of the position is to assist the Chief General Counsel (CGC) and serve as legal counsel for Kendall County. Persons in this classification perform a variety of complex, high level administrative, technical and professional work in advising Commissioners Court (CCT) as to legal rights, authority, obligations and limitations as determined by local, state, and federal laws, orders, rules and regulations. Engineer - The purpose of the position is to direct activities, operations, and programs related to the Kendall County Engineer’s Office. Employees in this classification are responsible for planning, operations, construction, maintenance, safety, environmental compliance, floodplain management, on-site sewage facilitation, and developing local government codes. Fleet Mechanic III - the purpose of the position is to ensure proper maintenance and repair of County vehicles and equipment for efficient and safe use. Employees in this classification perform mechanical work on vehicles and heavy equipment associated with road maintenance. Paramedic - the purpose of the position is to perform acute medical services in emergency and non-emergency situations using Basic Life Support and Advanced Life Support techniques and transports patients by ambulance to an emergency medical facility. To download the job application click here.

Detention Officer - Under constant supervision, the purpose of the position is to provide care and custody of inmates in the detention facility; receive and process inmates and ensure safety and security of facility; and prepare documents and reports in conjunction with these tasks. Deputy Sheriff - Under general supervision, the purpose of the position is to enforce laws and ordinances in order to maintain peace and public safety within Kendall County. Position is responsible for patrolling the county; resolving issues arising from conflict or concerns of the public; assisting in investigations; providing security for the courthouse and performing bailiff duties.  Position is also responsible for public relations within the community.
